Details about Sept. 5 (our first day!)

If you received a flag at our family event in May, please dig it out!  It is time to get ready to wave your flag.

All students will be encouraged to carry your flag as you walk or ride by bus to school. Some extra flags will be handed out if you did not receive a flag. We will be having media coverage from a number of news outlets and they are looking forward to seeing the Chicopee Chargers carry our flags to school!

School Entry

All students and parents from Gr. 1-7 are invited to gather in the grass field in front of the school between 8:55 to 9:10 AM. Bus students will be unloaded and escorted to the front field as well. Staff will be wearing their Green Chicopee Shirts and will have signs and will be lined up by grade along the field. Students can find their teacher who is holding their sign and line up in their class line.

At 9:10 AM, once the bell rings, we will have students parade into the school with their backpacks and flags. At this time, only students will be invited to come into the school. We are looking forward to hosting parents for a special Open House on Tuesday, September 12 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. At this time, you can have a fabulous tour of our new school.

Ribbon Cutting

At 3:00 PM, staff and students will return to the grass field in front of the school. Students will be encouraged to wave their flags once again.  Classes will be lined up in the same places as the morning. At 3:15 PM, we will do a school cheer. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at the front of the school to officially declare the historic day of opening our new school. Parents may come to join us for the ribbon cutting ceremony at 3:00 PM in the front field. More media outlets will be getting coverage of this official ribbon cutting ceremony.

Dismissal

At 3:30 PM, staff will assist bus students to getting lined up and on the buses. After school care students will be assisted to get to their program. Finally, walking students will be assisted as well to take the right paths to the corners with crossing guards. If you have students who do not take a bus, you may gather at the field and find after the ribbon cutting in their line ups.

*** In the event of inclement weather (rain), we will bring students into the gym between 2:45 and 3:15 for a brief cheer and ribbon cutting. This event will not be open to parents due to limited space in our gym.
