Are you ready for an amazing school year at Chicopee Hills?  Our staff is geared up and ready to greet you!

We have so many new and exciting things at Chicopee this year, we are looking forward to our start up on Tuesday, Sept. 4.

For all Kindergarten parents, SK students will begin school on Wednesday, Sept. 5. JK students have been sent information about your class visit and your first day of attendance. Only families Kindergarten students using Extended Day services will begin on Sept. 4 if they are subscribing to full day care services. Kindergarten families are asked to review all information carefully in order to send your children to school on the correct days/schedules.

Class list information will be sent out to all families through School Day by Saturday, Sept. 1. This information will be automated this year and sent directly through our school board to our families. If you have not received this information, staff will support you in finding your correct teacher and class on the first day when you arrive.

On our first day, we would love to see Gr. 1-8 students walking to school with their smiles. We encourage students to wear their school shirts and spirit wear. We hope to have some surprises along the way when you walk to school on the first day. Walking or biking or coming by scooter will be the safest and easiest way for students to come to school. Please meet us on our Turf Field. You will be able to line up in your class line up with your teacher on the Turf Field when you arrive. School begins at 9:10 AM. Try and be at school every day by 9:00 AM.

Listen for the School Hand Bell at 9:10 AM….that’s when we will begin our day. We will be doing our school cheer. After a brief introduction, students will be entering the school. Please note the entry is dedicated for students only. Parents can visit the school at our Meet the Teacher Event on Tuesday, Sept. 11.

School will finish at 3:30 PM. If you have a number of students, please create a meeting spot for your kids to gather and meet you on the school yard. (Basketball net, Net on Turf Field, etc) Please avoid driving to school at the end of the day. The traffic at the end of the day is always heavier. We do not have parking for parents at the end of the day.

Please obey all signage on the streets surrounding the school and staff supervisors and crossing guards who are outside in order to keep all of our students safe.

On our first day of school, we will be rehearsing dismissal routines for students to exit our school to the buses and to Extended Day or Youth Development Programs, or for walking home.

2nd Floor Students: Gr. 1A, 1B, 1 F.I., 1-2, 4A, 4B, 5A, 5B, 6A, 6B Turf Field Side Door.

1st Floor Students: Kindergarten – Side Parking Lot Door

Cottage Country Portable Students: Gr. 2A, 2B, 2-3, 3A, 3-4, 4-5, 5-6. Turf Field
